What is a gluten-free diet?
Gluten sensitivity cannot be treated with medication. The only treatment is to completely eliminate gluten from the diet. The diet must be strictly followed for life.
Gluten is a protein found in wheat, rye, barley, spelt, and kamut. Foods that contain gluten include bread, cookies, pasta, broth, sauces, candy…
Some people can’t eat gluten. Even a tiny amount—such as a crumb of bread—can cause problems.

What is a lactose-free diet?
Lactose, or milk sugar, is found in animal milk and dairy products.
To follow a lactose-free diet, it’s important to avoid these products. Soy milk-based products, such as yogurt and pudding, are acceptable as long as no lactose has been added. Aged and mature cheeses contain less lactose than young cheeses. Yogurt contains bacterial lactase (from live cultures) and is therefore generally better tolerated.
Lactose is also found in other foods! It is added to various foods to improve texture, enhance flavor, or ensure a longer shelf life. Lactose is found in ready-to-eat products such as pudding, soup, pastries, pancake mix, etc.
Lactose is also found in medications and dietary supplements.
